I began my yoga practice in Roswell, NM at about the same time that I was introduced to adaptive skiing. I have been an adaptive ski coach with Ski Apache Adaptive Sports for 5 seasons and often use yoga breath and mantras in my ski training to help my clients. I don’t believe in barriers or limits. With compassion and encouragement, I love to help empower my students to achieve any goal that they want to and to eventually find the teacher within themselves. For me, yoga is a blend of fun, discipline, spirituality, self-healing and discovery. I hope my students leave their mats feeling whatever it is they need that day and a little something more.
I completed my 200 RYT last June with Wanderlust Austin and am registered with the Yoga Alliance. Curating my yoga playlists to sync with my flows is a big passion of mine. I’m interested in furthering my teacher training and have been blending the style that I completed training in with the YogaHour sequences that I hope to formally train in sometime in the future. I was a public school science lab teacher in Houston for most of my career and it’s a huge joy to get to teach in such a welcoming community with other teachers that I’ve learned so much from!
My favorite asana is ardha chandrasana or half moon pose. I love this pose because the breath, alignment and focus required to achieve and hold the pose in the way that I like to hold it, reminds me of both unity and release at the same time.
